Celebrating Sonru’s success

Jafeth Rodriguez, Chairman at RecruitAdvantage – our strategic partner in Australia – attended an event organised by Enterprise Ireland and the Irish Consul to celebrate Sonru’s success and expansion down under. We have syndicated the blog piece he wrote after the event below.
Last week, on the 11th of October, I was invited by The Consul-General of Ireland, Caitríona Ingoldsby and Enterprise Ireland, to a reception at Martin Place to celebrate Sonru’s success in revolutionising early stage screening with innovative one-way video interviewing technology.

The event hosted a number of HR personalities, the CEO Sonru Asia Pacific, Luke Falvey and of course the delightful Maria Maguire, Sonru’s Country Manager, Australia.

The Consul-General kicked off the formalities by sharing with the audience some interesting facts about Ireland. Even though Ireland is facing severe economic challenges, the country boasts impressive balance of trade figures, with a merchandise trade surplus of more than €39 billion with a particular emphasis in the Irish Government’s investment in Information Communications Technology, R&D and innovation which has resulted in developing a strong technology platform for the country.

We then heard from Luke Falvey, who gave a quick presentation on the Sonru platform. Luke focussed on the candidate experience, the ease of use of the product and the benefits of the platform in terms of the convenience factor and time savings generated.

Lynda Ugarte, Talent Acquision Manager of the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG), then delivered a case study on IHG’s use of Sonru, sharing with the group some outstanding results, with a 38% success rate in a national resourcing campaign using Sonru’s technology versus a 10-15% success rate on previous years without Sonru. This campaign lead to IHG saving 50% on man-hours in the field on the project.

Maria Maguire then completed the formalities and the group mingled to a delicious array of treats and drinks in the context of the wonderful view to the Harbour from the MLC centre.
